Lucius D. Bunton, Attorney Mediator
Lucius began his private practice of law in Texas in 1982. He has been admitted to practice - and has appeared before - the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of Texas. He has appeared in federal district court in all districts of Texas and is licensed to practice in all Texas courts.
Lucius was born in Marfa, Texas in 1952. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 1974 and from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1979. Lucius served as an Assistant Attorney General of Texas from 1980-1982 when he went into private practice in Austin.
He is a member of the Travis County Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Texas Mediators Creditionaling Association, the Education Law Association, and the Association of Attorney-Mediators. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Association and a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Association.
Lucius has served in Austin on the boards of Meals on Wheels, the Women's Advocacy Association, the American Institute for Learning, and the administrative board of the First United Methodist Church. He and his wife had their first grandchild born in 2011.
